What is the Freedom Fast?

The Freedom Fast is a nationwide invitation to pause—together. Rooted in the spirit of Isaiah 58 and America’s tradition of national fasts, it calls people of every faith, background, and belief to join in fasting, reflection, and service.

We fast to open.

We listen to understand.

We serve to heal.

There is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed.

~ Woodrow Wilson
28th President of the United States of America

Why Now?

Our country is facing a crisis of division, distrust, and disconnection. The promises of liberty, justice, and community feel more fragile than ever. But healing doesn’t begin in Washington—it begins with us.

The Freedom Fast is a sacred invitation to reset:
To reflect on who we are, remember who we can be, and rekindle a shared vision of what it means to belong.

Who’s Invited?

If you’re concerned about this country’s future—and our ability to understand one another—this is for you.

Everyone.
